The Uptown Multi-Cultural Art Center's office has been located at the American Indian
Center (AIC) in Chicago since 1990. We owe a debt of gratitude to AIC for helping us
to exist over this difficult period in our history. Funding for the "community arts" is
very weak and we have raised most of our operations funding ourselves from artist and
individual donations. The grants we have received have yet to pay for staff.
The American Indian Center is an asset to all Chicago and especially to the creative
community. We owe them our existence. Thank you AIC.
